Competition winner

Words with JAM has chosen my entry as a winner in their ‘humorous first lines’ competition.  The winning entries will be published in the next issue, due out on 30 March.

WWJ is a great bi-monthly ezine produced by writers for writers.  They chose my entry as a winner, so they must be good.  To get to their site and subscribe for free, click here.

And my winning entry?  “They were getting on like a house on fire. The longer it went on, the less remained.”

We moved to an 18th-century farmhouse in SW France in 1997. I'm fascinated by French history, rural traditions and customs. I also write historical novels and short stories.
